Roles & Responsibilities

  • Establish, develop and maintain business relationships with current and prospective Manufacturing partners.
  • Conduct meetings with new and existing Manufacturing partners to gain knowledge of their respective industry and provide recommendations for the company’s short and long term sourcing strategy
  • Manage the process to source and qualify potential Manufacturing partners
  • Develops sourcing strategies to include overall market, industry and supply base analysis, category and supplier segmentation, sourcing activity facilitation, bid analysis, negotiations, contracting and implementation
  • Sourcing may also include joint process improvements, volume concentration, price/cost optimization
  • Analyze historical and current shipment data and develop strategies to improve business planning.
  • Supports and executes procurement and business unit strategies
  • Develops and communicates on an ongoing basis Manufacturing planning to reflect changes in the supply, industry landscape and the needs of the company
  • Ensures appropriate risk management, capacity and contingency plans incorporating best in class techniques and industry benchmarks
  • Engages in productivity, cash flow and innovation projects driven by Supply Chain, R&D, Operations, or Marketing which may include “end to end” opportunity assessment work for targeted integrated suppliers
  • Responsible for Manufacturing relationship management activities, including contract and purchase order management, key performance indicators (KPI’s), scorecards, issue resolution, and business reviews
  • Prepares budgets, market forecasts and financial plans by conducting market analysis using relevant market and industry data
  • Creates and manages cost models for key partners, as needed
  • Communicates market information, pricing and strategy impacts to business units, functions, and additional stakeholders
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Manufacturing or related field required
  • Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Manufacturing or related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of supply chain management/ manufacturing experience required
  • 3-5 years of contracting experience preferred
  • Proven project management experience


  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English
  • Effective interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills
  • Ability to self-motivate and possess independent problem solving
  • Project management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Available to travel to company locations
  • Must pass an RCMP security clearance

Physical Demands

  • While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to be able to lift up to and including 50lbs, sit and/or stand for extended periods of time and reach with arms/hands. Walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling and moving items is occasionally required.

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to packaged cannabis products/supplies. The working environment can be noisy at times and temperate, the employee must have knowledge of how to manage their own personal safety under these conditions.
